BMI has worked with various artists in the production of anatomically-based works of art. The following are a few highlighted projects to which we have contributed. |
A Case of Anatomical SplicingBMI assisted Matthew Day Jackson in the creation of Dymaxion Man. The production of this piece involved the fusing of the artist's skull with the injuries of Phineas Gage, the American 19th-century railroad worker famous for surviving an accident in which a large iron rod was driven through his head. A Subject-specific Anatomical SculptureWe contributed to the production of Kiki Smith's Vis Consili Expers Mole Ruit Sua. This piece features a life size bronze replica of the artist's skull with an engraving that roughly translates as, "Strength without wisdom falls by its own weight."
